DESIGN RESEARCHER
Currently a Senior Consultant at ILLUME Advising
Interests include: human factors research, inclusive design, and giving presentations you stay awake through!
How I work
I am self-organized, driven, and prepared to take on challenges in order to learn. I enjoy collaborating and value my colleagues as highly as the quality of my work.
Research
At the start of every project, I conduct a literature review to educate myself on the problem at hand.
A properly formed research question is at the heart of every successful project. As a mixed-methods researcher, I have experience in developing and running studies to address these questions directly.
Design
Where are the hangups in the existing design? How can I make this more effective, intuitive, and accessible?
I like to make data-driven, user-focused design decisions. If I can’t support my hypotheses, I will delve back into the research phase to gather more information.
Communicate
I actually enjoy preparing and giving presentations and take great pride in making them clear, effective, and engaging. My experience as a design consultant means I don’t shy from difficult questions and will readily admit when I do not have an answer… yet!
